If it wasn’t for family and friends, would you stay in Illinois? If you moved, where would you go? Those two questions seem to come up more often these days. Illinois has been my home for 19 years – and I’m seeking office because I want to make sure my husband and I continue raising our three children here. The problem is that it’s getting more challenging for us and many others to do so. What is it about our state that’s so unsettling?

No! The Governor can veto a law but it’s the duty of the House of Representatives to create laws and present them to the Senate for a vote.
